When I finished my studies as an orchestral musician at the 'Hochschule für Musik in Köln' in 1995, there was only one thing on my mind: to leave Germany and study jazz with my favorite teacher, Bert Joris.
That's how I ended up in Belgium.
The first person I met during the entrance exam turned out to be my first bandmate.
Together with Yves Peeters on drums, we founded the band 'Jazzisfaction'. Since then, we’ve shared a deep friendship and I’m sure we played around 500 gigs together over the 15+ years we played in this band – often for just 100 Belgian Francs per night during our student days.
It was so much fun with the guys!
